Wet Basement & Structural Repair in Moneta, VA

After dealing with a recurring damp smell and noticeable humidity inside his home—especially following heavy rain—Rob in Moneta started to suspect that the issue might be coming from beneath his house. Wanting to avoid long-term damage and get ahead of the problem, he reached out for a professional crawl space inspection.

The inspection revealed that water was entering the crawl space during storms due to inadequate drainage around the foundation. This had led to standing water in certain areas, soaked insulation, and persistently high humidity levels. Without a proper vapor barrier in place, moisture was able to spread throughout the space, increasing the risk of mold and structural damage.

To correct these conditions, Fortress Foundation Solutions designed a system to both manage incoming water and seal out ground moisture. A drainage solution was installed to redirect water away from the crawl space, followed by the removal of wet insulation and debris. The CleanSpace® Vapor Barrier was then installed across the floor and walls to create a sealed environment.

To maintain proper humidity levels, a SaniDry™ Sedona Dehumidifier was added.

Sydney, a homeowner in Moneta, Virginia was concerned about the stability of her floors. She had noticed bouncing and sagging over the years and wanted an expert opinion. We sent out Caleb, one of our system designers to her home to come up with a plan of action. 

Caleb performed his inspection and concluded that the cause of the sagging floors was due to high humidity in the crawl space below. Humid air had weakened the joists and caused them to sag over time. We ended up installing 4 our of SmartJacks and a supplemental beam to stabilize the floors from below, preventing any further movement and allowing for lift in the future.

System Designer, Sonny Kingsbury, sent our Production Foreman, Clearance Copeland, to install our Power Brace Wall Support System against the bowing ball. This solution will stop the wall failure from getting any worse! 

This home in Moneta,VA was having a foundation wall that had a slight bow to it. This wall began to lean inward slightly. After calling Fortress Foundation Solutions for a free estimate, our System Designer was able to go out and provide an estimate for a perminate solution. 

Scott, our System Desinger knew the best solution would be Carbon Armor strips. These strips are apllied to the wall. They are held up by a super sticky adhesive tape. They are then tightened by a notch at the top of the strip. Helping the slight bow before it becomes worse.

These homeowners  in Moneta called Fortress to fix the settling  and cracked concrete. Our crew went out to fix the issue by preparing the area for installation to protect the concrete and any surrounding landscaping. Then they drill 5/8-inch hole and pump foam to stabilize and lift concrete to return it to its initial leveling point. (May require multiple holes.) Once the foam has been injected, the holes will be patched with a concrete sealer. The install area will be cleaned and ready for use.
