Moneta, Virginia Wall Failure Repair Project
Challenge
Carla in Moneta, Virginia noticed one wall in her basement apartment beginning to bow inward. Since the space was regularly used, she wanted to address the problem before it became a more serious structural issue.
After inspecting the basement, we found that pressure from the surrounding soil was causing the wall to move inward. To provide long-term stability, the wall needed a combination of reinforcement systems.
Solution
Toby and his crew stabilized the affected wall by installing 3 PowerBrace® Wall Support Beams along with 3 GeoLock® Wall Anchors.
The PowerBrace® beams reinforce the wall from the inside, while the GeoLock® anchors extend into stable soil outside the home to help counteract the pressure causing the movement.
Together, these systems provide strong, long-term support and help prevent further inward bowing.
With the repairs complete, Carla's basement wall is now secure and properly reinforced. She can once again enjoy her basement apartment with confidence, knowing the foundation has the support it needs for years to come.
