In Hedgesville, WV, Stephen's future home faced significant crawl space issues, as seen in the 'before' photo. Fungal growth and mold were a concern, but at Fortress Foundation Solutions, we have the expertise to address such problems. We implemented our CleanSpace encapsulation system, SilverGlo insulation, and SmartJack support posts to reinforce the area structurally. Together with the SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier, these solutions transformed the crawl space into a dry, stable environment, providing the sturdy foundation essential for a safe and healthy home.

Mr. Louis lives in Hedgesville, West Virginia, and was experiencing settlement issues in his 1980s home, as seen in the before photo. He noticed stair-step cracks forming on two connecting sides of the home, and the doorway leading to his garden had become stuck in the middle, making it very difficult to open and close. That’s when he decided to call Fortress after seeing our ads.

We sent out Joe, one of our skilled system designers, to inspect the property. Joe set up his lasers, took precise measurements, and identified settlement affecting the entire right side of Mr. Louis’s home. The solution required 17 push piers to permanently stabilize the structure.

As seen in the after photo, the doorway was stabilized on both sides and now works like new. Mr. Louis is very happy knowing he not only fixed the sticking door, but also permanently stabilized his sinking home. 

In Stephenson, Katie had been dealing with ongoing moisture problems in her large 1,700-square-foot crawl space. Excess humidity and water intrusion were creating concerns about air quality, energy efficiency, and potential long-term damage beneath the home. During our inspection, we found standing moisture, poor drainage, and consistently high humidity levels throughout the crawl space.

Scott and the crew installed a complete crawl space encapsulation system designed to permanently control moisture and protect the home. An EZ Flow drainage system was added to direct water away from the crawl space, along with two TripleSafe™ sump pumps for reliable water removal and backup protection.

To fully seal the space, we installed our CleanSpace® vapor barrier to lock out ground moisture and create a clean, controlled environment. SilverGlo™ wall insulation was added to improve energy efficiency and temperature regulation, while two SaniDry™ Sedona dehumidifiers were installed to maintain healthy humidity levels throughout the crawl space.

As shown in the after photos, the crawl space is now clean, dry, and fully protected—giving Katie a healthier, more energy-efficient home with long-lasting moisture protection.

In Boyce, Tyrone was dealing with severely bowing walls and stairstep cracking—clear signs of significant structural pressure on his foundation. The before photos show walls that had begun to shift inward, indicating instability that, if left unaddressed, could lead to serious structural damage.

Our team at Fortress Foundation Solutions identified the need for immediate reinforcement to stop further movement. Cope and his crew installed 7 PowerBrace™ Wall Support Beams to stabilize the affected walls. As shown in the after photos, the system successfully secured the foundation, halting further bowing and cracking while restoring long-term structural stability to the home.
