This customer was worried about the state of his crawl space, particularly about the water leaking in, so he called Fortress Foundation Solutions to come give him a free estimate. We sent out our System Designer, Paul Heckman, who did a thorough inspection of his crawl space and designed a solution just for him. Soon after signing the contract, our Foreman, Travis Farmer, and his crew went out to complete the job. They installed our SmartPump Sump Pump system to keep the water out, as well as our SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier to keep the air in the crawl space moisture-free. To finish the job, they installed our SilverGlo Insulation on the walls, as well as our Drainage Matting and CleanSpace Vapor Barrier on the ground to ensure the crawl space stays nice and dry. Our client was incredibly satisfied with the result!
Jimi H. of Berkeley Springs, WV noticed water damage in his unfinished basement after a weekend of heavy rain. He recognized it was time to contact Fortress Foundation Solutions and schedule his complimentary estimate.
System Designer Kurtis Toppert identified that the pressure from the heavy rains had led to a buildup of water near the foundation, causing a hairline crack that allowed water to seep in—a phenomenon known as hydrostatic pressure.
Kurtis swiftly addressed the crack by utilizing flexible carbon fiber fabric straps called CarbonArmor which are up to 10 times stronger in tension than steel. Using high-strength epoxy resin, the carbon fiber straps were bonded to the interior face of the wall. They dried quickly and will not affect future basement finishing plans.
Immar and Edgar served as the foremen on this project. After applying the CarbonArmor, they covered the wall with in BrightWall and installed our WaterGuard system around the entire perimeter to ensure a consistently dry basement. Furthermore, they tied our WaterGuard system into our Triple Safe Sump Pump system, providing these homeowners with complete and total peace of mind.
Rebecca in Stephens City, Virginia has a full house. She’s lived there for 10 years with the intention of it being her forever home.
As seen in the before photo, her crawl space was not equipped for storage - it wasn’t even dry down there. Rebecca needed extra usable space in her home so she could empty out a spare room for her sister to move in. She called Fortress, and we sent out Cara, one of our system designers, to help.
Cara’s solution included addressing the groundwater seepage and fully encapsulating the crawl space. After doing her own research, Rebecca came to the same conclusion. Nick was the foreman on the job, and he executed the project seamlessly.
Now Rebecca has clean, usable storage space and can safely store her belongings in an area of the home she was already paying for anyway.
A wet basement can lead to major issues, as the photos from our recent project in Glengary, WV show. The homeowner faced water intrusion compromising the basement’s stability and air quality. Notice the transformation achieved with our advanced Basement Waterproofing solutions. We seamlessly installed the robust TripleSafe Sump Pump system, CleanSpace encapsulation, and WaterGuard drainage. This combination effectively diverts water away, as you can see in the 'after' photo. The result is a healthy, stable, and dry living area that homeowners can confidently utilize without fear of future water damage.
This customer called because they were ready to list their home for sale, but needed to fix the water problem in the crawl space first. They were able to quickly get an appointment with Zach Bullock who completed an inspection and provided an estimate the same day. Charlie Evans, foreman, was able to come with his crew to regrade, install EZ flow drainage pipe and a SmartSump sump pump system to keep the crawlspace dry. A dry crawl space is at the top of home buyer's lists, making this home buyer ready!
