A homeowner near Centreville, VA called Fortress Foundation Solutions after noticing the concrete settling in front of this doorway. Over time, rain water can wash away the underlying dirt, causing a drop which often results in a tripping hazard. System Designer Chris Wilmouth was happy to meet with the homeowner, providing an inspection and free estimate. Soon, the Fortress PolyLevel crew arrived at the home and began their work. They drilled small holes at measured intervals into the concrete, filling these holes with PolyLevel until the concrete was lifted to the desired height. Once leveled, the tiny holes were filled, with NexusPro applied over the crack making it barely noticeable. Now, this Centreville family can come and go safely!
Before our intervention, this Centreville crawl space was susceptible to moisture and mold, posing potential structural risks and contributing to unpleasant odors. With humidity and excess moisture being primary issues in unsealed areas, the environment was leading to wood rot, pest infestations, and even impacting energy bills. Our solution involved installing the CleanSpace® encapsulation system, as highlighted in the after photo. This high-quality, 20-mil liner effectively sealed the space, arresting moisture infiltration and creating a dry, protected foundation. With this system, we assured the homeowner a healthier and more energy-efficient home.
Fortress Foundation Solutions installed a WaterGuard french drain system that connected two rooms, CleanSpace wall system, and TripleSafe sump pump.
This basement in Poolesville had water seeping up through the foundation when it rained. The old sump pump stopped working and the basement was having flooding issues once again. The homeowner called Fortress Foundation Solutions to solve this problem. After assessing the home, Fortress determined that a full-perimeter WaterGuard, a TripleSafe Sump Pump System, and a CleanSpace Vapor Barrier were the best solution. The WaterGuard will catch any water coming in and channel it to the TripleSafe where it will be pumped out of the basement. This homeowner no longer has to worry about a wet basement!
A homeowner near Sterling VA, called Fortress Foundation Solutions after discovering moisture issues in his crawl space. Efflorescence had built up on the walls from years of moisture seeping through the block. Our System Designer, Riley Ethier, inspected his crawl space and provided a free estimate for an encapsulation. Soon foreman Warren Dickerson and his crew were onsite installing drainage matting, and CleanSpace vapor barrier. The CleanSpace keeps out moisture protecting the wood joists keeping the space dry!
