Dehumidifier upgrade in Potomac, MD

Homeowner in Potomac Maryland got a crawl space encapsulation from us about half a year ago. They declined our industrial grade dehumidifier and insisted on using one they purchased from a hardware store. However, they had to literally crawl down into their crawl space and manually empty the small water reservoir. While the space stayed clean, the maintenance became inconvenient. After some time, they decided to call us back out to install a proper, high grade, low maintenance dehumidifier.

10 Years of Flooding Permanently Fixed

This homeowner in Purcellville, VA had been dealing with basement flooding for 10 years! There were clear watermarks on the walls and the floors. They needed this problem solved permanently because they wanted to finish the basement and use it as a rental space. They knew that finishing the space without fixing the problem would lead to further issues and they couldn't in good conscious let someone rent and live in it. Water can cause damage to the walls and personal belongings, cause mold to grow, and affect the air quality of the basement and the rest of the home. The homeowner called Fortress Foundation Solutions for help. System designer Caleb Stone went out and gave them a free estimate and proposed a solution. They trusted Caleb's knowledge and expertise and accepted Fortress's help. Foreman Clarence Copeland and his crew went out and installed a full perimeter system with our WaterGuard Below Floor Drain. WaterGuard is the best choice for waterproofing a basement. It's installed below the floor slab and rests on top of the foundation footing which keeps it from potentially getting clogged by mud. WaterGuard is installed with minimal invasion of the slab and all concrete is restored after. This system flows into our TripleSafe Sump Pump, which has two pumps capable of pumping up to 6,120 gallons of water per hour. In the case of a power outage, a third pump runs on a battery backup and can pump up to 11,500 gallons per hour. This job was finished off with our CleanSpace wall to give the basement a bright and clean look for finishing in the future. This homeowner can now do any renovations to the basement they want and can be sure it will be protected!

Waterproofing basement gym in Vienna, Virginia

In Vienna, Virginia, homeowner Anton started his day off on the wrong foot. He woke up before sunrise to get a workout in before work, but when he walked into his personal basement gym, he found water everywhere.

After the heavy rainstorm the night before, Anton knew he needed a permanent solution and reached out to Fortress to come out as soon as possible for a waterproofing estimate. He met with Paul and felt confident in what both Paul and Fortress had to offer.

Just three weeks later, Anton’s basement was professionally waterproofed and his basement gym was saved.

Fairfax Station Basement Waterproofing - A Fresh Start

Two weeks after moving into their dream home in Fairfax Station, this homeowner was greeted by an unexpected challenge—water intrusion in their basement following a bout of rain and snow. Instead of letting discouragement take root, they turned to us for a solution. With precision and care, we installed our WaterGuard® system, expertly channeled to guide unwanted water to safety and ensure their basement remains a welcoming, dry space. As you notice in the after photo, stability and peace of mind are restored, showcasing the transformative power of readiness and resilience.

Wet basement repair in Falls Church, Virginia

In Falls Church, Virginia, local homeowner Joe noticed puddling in his basement after a major rainstorm. He had to move all of the furniture in his finished basement to the middle of the room because he didn’t know where the water was coming from, as seen in the before photo.

He immediately called Fortress and scheduled a free estimate. We sent one of our experienced system designers out to evaluate the problem, and the answer was clear: groundwater intrusion. A proposal was put together, and a solution was agreed upon - WaterGuard tied into a SuperSump Plus system along with a SaniDry dehumidifier.

Nick, the foreman on the job, got to work and demoed the walls just enough to expose the foundation walls and create a clean work area. He then carefully pulled back the very damaged carpet and installed our system, as seen in the after photo.

Joe was disappointed the water intrusion happened in the first place, but relieved knowing his basement is now protected by our lifetime of the structure warranty - and excited to remodel his man cave once again.
