Push Piers used to Stabilize Locust Grove, VA Home!
Challenge
A homeowner in Locust Grove, Eileen, contacted Fortress Foundation Solutions after noticing signs of foundation settlement around her home. Cracks had begun appearing along the exterior walls, and several interior doors were sticking or no longer closing properly. She also observed slight separation around window frames and uneven areas in the flooring.
Over time, these issues became more noticeable, leading Eileen to worry about the structural integrity of her home. During our inspection, we determined that the foundation was experiencing differential settlement due to unstable, moisture-sensitive soils beneath the structure. Seasonal changes in moisture levels had caused the soil to expand and contract, resulting in uneven support and foundation movement.
Eileen wanted a permanent solution that would stabilize her home and prevent further damage.
Solution
Fortress Foundation Solutions recommended the installation of a Push Pier system to stabilize the affected areas of the foundation. Our team strategically installed six push piers along the settling sections of the home, driving them deep into stable, load-bearing soil.
Once the piers reached proper depth, controlled hydraulic lifting was performed to carefully raise the foundation toward its original position. This process helped correct the settlement and restore alignment throughout the structure.
After installation, Eileen’s home in Locust Grove was stabilized and supported by a long-term solution. She gained peace of mind knowing her foundation was protected from future settlement and that her home’s structural integrity had been restored.
