Foundation Settlement Repaired on Marshall, VA Home
Challenge
Bernard and Claudette in Marshall had started to notice subtle changes around their home—but over time, those small issues became hard to ignore.
It began with a few cracks along the exterior brickwork. Then doors inside the home started sticking, and windows didn’t open quite as smoothly as they used to. Eventually, they noticed slight sloping in parts of the floor, which raised real concerns about what might be happening beneath the surface.
Like many homeowners, they weren’t sure how serious it was—but they knew it wasn’t something to put off any longer.
When we completed our inspection, we found that their home was experiencing foundation settlement caused by shifting, moisture-sensitive soils. As the soil expanded and contracted over time, it had lost its ability to properly support the structure, leading to uneven settling.
Solution
To permanently stabilize the home, we recommended installing a Push Pier system along the affected areas of the foundation.
Our team installed 12 push piers, driving each one deep into stable, load-bearing soil beneath the home. Once they reached proper depth, we used controlled hydraulic lifting to carefully raise the settled sections of the foundation as much as possible.
The difference was immediate—not just structurally, but visually as well. Cracks were reduced, doors and windows functioned more normally, and the home felt solid again.
By the time we wrapped up, Bernard and Claudette had what they were really looking for: a permanent solution. No more guessing, no more worrying about things getting worse—just a stable home and peace of mind for the future
