Small Bowing Wall Repair Project in Christiansburg, Virginia
Challenge
Jay and Shirley in Christiansburg, Virginia had started noticing a slight inward curve and a few cracks beginning to form in their basement wall.
Even though the movement was still relatively minor, they knew foundation issues rarely improve on their own. Rather than wait for the problem to become more serious or expensive to repair, they decided to have the basement professionally inspected.
After evaluating the wall, we found that pressure from the soil surrounding the home was pushing against the foundation and causing the wall to shift inward. Fortunately, because the issue had been caught early, the wall could be stabilized before more significant structural damage occurred.
Solution
To stop the movement and reinforce the wall, Tyler and his crew installed 2 GeoLock® Wall Anchors along the affected section of the basement.
These anchors extend from the inside of the wall into stable soil outside the home, where they are secured to help counteract the pressure pushing against the foundation. Once installed, the system immediately stabilized the wall and prevented any further inward movement.
By the time the project was complete, the basement wall was secure and properly reinforced. Jay and Shirley now have peace of mind knowing the problem was handled early—and that their home is protected with a long-term structural solution in place.
