Barboursville, Virginia Homeowner needed help with bowing basement walls
Challenge
Thomas in Barboursville, Virginia had started noticing signs that several of his basement walls were under pressure. Over time, sections of the walls had begun bowing inward, creating growing concerns about the stability of the foundation and the long-term condition of the home.
As the movement became more noticeable, it was clear the issue was affecting multiple areas throughout the basement and needed to be addressed before it worsened.
After inspecting the foundation, we found that pressure from the surrounding soil was pushing against several wall sections, causing them to shift inward. Because the movement was happening in multiple locations, the home required a strong stabilization system to properly secure the walls.
Solution
To reinforce the foundation and stop further movement, Warren and his crew installed 12 GeoLock® Wall Anchors throughout the affected areas of the basement.
These anchors extend from the inside of the basement walls into stable soil outside the home, helping counteract the pressure pushing against the foundation. Once installed, the system immediately stabilized the walls and provided long-term structural support.
By the time the project was complete, the basement walls were secure and properly reinforced. Thomas now has peace of mind knowing his foundation is stabilized and protected from continued movement moving forward.
