Rockingham, Virginia Bowing Wall Repair Project
Challenge
Mrs. Kline in Rockingham, Virginia had started noticing signs of movement along several basement walls. Some areas showed slight inward bowing, while others had smaller cracks beginning to form.
Wanting to address the issue before it became more serious, she contacted Fortress Foundation Solutions for a full inspection.
After evaluating the basement, we found that pressure from the surrounding soil was affecting multiple sections of the foundation walls. Because some areas had more movement than others, the home required a combination of stabilization systems to properly reinforce the walls.
Solution
Warren and his crew designed a repair plan tailored to the different levels of wall movement throughout the basement.
In the areas with more significant bowing, we installed 2 GeoLock Wall Anchors to provide strong, long-term structural support. Along the sections showing earlier signs of movement, the team installed 5 CarbonArmor straps to reinforce the walls and help prevent additional shifting.
By the time the project was complete, the basement walls were stabilized and properly supported. Mrs. Kline now has peace of mind knowing her foundation is protected with long-term structural solutions in place.
