GeoLock Wall Anchors saves bowing walls in Roanoke, Virginia
Challenge
Mike in Roanoke, Virginia had been dealing with serious pressure against several of his basement walls. Over time, multiple walls had started bowing inward, making it clear the issue was affecting more than just one area of the basement.
As the movement became more noticeable, concerns about the stability of the foundation continued to grow.
After inspecting the home, we found widespread wall movement caused by heavy soil pressure surrounding the foundation. Because several walls were affected, the basement required a large-scale stabilization solution to properly secure the structure.
Solution
To reinforce the foundation and stop further movement, the team installed 14 GeoLock® Wall Anchors throughout the basement.
These anchors extend deep into stable soil outside the home and work to counteract the pressure pushing against the foundation walls. Once installed, the system immediately stabilized the affected walls and provided long-term structural support.
By the time the project was complete, the basement walls were significantly more secure and properly reinforced. Mike now has peace of mind knowing his foundation has the long-term support needed to protect the home moving forward.
