Challenge
Richard in Roanoke, Virginia reached out to Fortress Foundation Solutions after noticing signs that part of his home was settling. During our free inspection, we discovered that the issue was more significant than it appeared—the foundation footing had fractured in two locations, allowing one side of the home to begin sinking.
Because of obstacles around the exterior of the home, a traditional outside installation wasn't possible. A repair plan would need to stabilize the foundation while protecting Richard's finished interior space.
Solution
To permanently support the failing foundation, we recommended installing 4 Helical Piers beneath the affected section of the home.
A few weeks later, Tyler and his crew completed the installation from inside the home, carefully working through the finished space to reach the foundation without causing unnecessary damage. The helical piers were advanced into stable soil beneath the home, transferring the weight of the structure onto stronger ground and preventing further settlement.
By the end of the project, Richard's foundation was properly stabilized despite the challenging installation conditions. Thanks to the crew's attention to detail, the work was completed safely and efficiently, leaving Richard with a secure foundation and peace of mind for years to come.
