Filling voids in Stafford, VA

In Stafford, Ms. Ruth had lived in her home for years. Over time, she started noticing the floor in her basement becoming unlevel and beginning to crack badly, as seen in the before photo. She researched concrete repair companies and found Fortress.

Troy was the system designer on call. He came out, met with Ms. Ruth, and got to work. Troy discovered voids underneath her concrete due to washout over time. He knew we had to fill the voids and put together a proposal that he and Ms. Ruth agreed on.

Ethan, our PolyLevel foreman, came out and executed Troy’s plan. He found the void pockets, drilled small dime-sized holes through the floor, and injected our poly foam underneath the slab. It compacted the soil, lifted the slab back up to level, and filled the voids, as seen in the after photo. Ethan sealed the holes and the cracks, and now Ms. Ruth’s basement is safe and stable again!

Closing Cracks from Settlement

This homeowner near Woodbine, Maryland was experiencing issues with sagging floors. They noticed a crack in the wall by their bedroom door frame, which is a common symptom of settlement. Knowing Fortress Foundation Solution's expertise in this area, they called for a solution. Our system designer went out and gave them a free estimate and presented a plan to solve their issue. Our crew then went out and installed SmartJacks to stabilize and lift the floors back to their original position. The floor was stabilized and lifted, and even closed the crack! The homeowner was very happy that their floor was returned to its original position and strength! These before and after photos show what Fortress Foundation Solutions is capable of!

Stabilzing and lifting a front porch in Brookville, Maryland

Scott, a homeowner in Brookeville, Maryland, noticed over time that his gorgeous front patio was sinking significantly - particularly causing the patio roof to begin slanting as well. He called Fortress, and we sent out Skylar to perform a thorough evaluation. After inspecting the structure, Skylar determined that the patio was too heavy for the soil beneath it. With nearly a 6-inch drop, as seen in the before photo, Skylar knew the porch needed to be stabilized and that there was also a possibility of lifting it back up.

Nick was the foreman on this project, along with his helper Ricardo. They got to work installing two helical piers to permanently stabilize the patio. In the after photo, you can see how cleanly the bracket is installed - and once covered with dirt, it sits nearly flush with the ground.

Settlement problems below deck in Alexandria Virginia

Before, the Fitzgeralds in Alexandria, were experiencing structural concerns beneath the deck that supported their sunroom. After a full inspection, we found the area needed additional support, but the tight crawlspace made access difficult and required sections of the deck boards to be carefully removed. Gustavo, our foreman, and his crew installed 8 SmartJacks along with 20 feet of supplemental beam to properly stabilize the structure. Now, the sunroom is safely supported and stabilized for years to come.

EverBrace Project on Jasontown Rd, Westminster, MD

This home owner called our office to see if we could help preserve "the bones" of their 1875 Victorian farmhouse. Our expert system designer, Skylar, was sent to do a complete and free evaluation.

Skylar quickly helped find a solution and our superintendent Nick took a few crews over to the property to "forever" brace the foundation with our EverBrace wall restoration system. The home owner can now continue the renovations knowing the foundation is secure for many, many more years to come!
