At Fortress Foundation Solutions, we take pride in helping homeowners protect their properties from structural damage. Recently, a customer reached out to us with concerns about a leaning retaining wall at their home. Over time, soil pressure and environmental factors had caused the wall to shift, posing a risk to both the property and safety.
Understanding the urgency of the situation, we sent System Designer Riley to assess the damage. During the inspection, Riley carefully examined the wall’s condition and identified the best solution to restore its stability. After a thorough evaluation, he provided the homeowner with a detailed quote and repair plan to address the issue effectively.
To correct the leaning wall and prevent further movement, our team installed GeoLock wall anchors—a proven system designed to straighten and stabilize foundation walls over time. These heavy-duty anchors provide long-term support by counteracting the external pressure that caused the wall to shift in the first place.
After installing the GeoLock anchors, the retaining wall was significantly reinforced, restoring both its functionality and structural integrity. The homeowner now has peace of mind knowing their property is protected from further damage.
Homeowners in Frederick, MD, reached out to Fortress Foundation Solutions with concerns about the structural integrity of their floors. Matt, one of our System Designers, was dispatched to perform a free inspection. During his evaluation, he discovered sagging floors and significant gaps between the main support beam and the floor joists.
To permanently stabilize the floor system, Matt recommended installing 12 feet of supplemental beam along with 12 SmartJacks. With the proper support in place, the homeowners can move forward with remodeling their kitchen without worrying about additional structural damage or floor movement.
Sterling, Virginia homeowner Joe reached out to Fortress while remodeling his basement after removing the finished walls and discovering significant cracks in his foundation walls. Before continuing with the project, he made the right decision to pause and call the local foundation experts at Fortress. We quickly scheduled a free inspection with one of our System Designers.
During the inspection, we found that the foundation wall had bowed inward more than two inches, leaving two effective repair options: PowerBrace™ steel beams, which stabilize the wall, or GeoLock® Wall Anchors, which take up less interior space while also providing the potential to pull the wall back toward its original position over time.
After reviewing both solutions, Joe chose the GeoLock® Wall Anchor System. Our crew got to work installing the anchors, permanently stabilizing the foundation wall and allowing Joe to move forward with his basement remodel with confidence.
