As seen in the before photo, this local homeowner in Hagerstown, Maryland started noticing cracks forming in the cinderblock retaining wall that leads to the stairwell entryway of the basement apartment he rents out. Over time, the cracks worsened and the wall began to look like it was caving in.
Brian spent a good chunk of time contemplating whether to call us, but once his tenants started bringing the issue to his attention, he knew it was time to act. He reached out online to schedule a free evaluation of the wall.
We sent one of our expert system designers out to inspect the issue, and he immediately knew what needed to be done — a Geo-Lock Wall Anchor system. Geo-Lock Wall Anchors use the strength of the stable virgin soil beyond the wall to permanently stabilize it and, in some cases, even pull the wall back toward its original position.
As seen in the after photo, this project took just one day to complete and required two Geo-Lock Wall Anchors to secure the wall. Now Brian and his tenants have peace of mind knowing the stairwell has been permanently stabilized.
In Hagerstown, Maryland, a homeowner experienced a problem more common than most people realize. After recently upgrading his kitchen and installing heavier appliances, including a brand new stove and large refrigerator/freezer combo, the added weight caused the floor joists beneath them to crack, as seen in the before photo.
Mark, the homeowner, knew he needed the issue addressed properly and wanted a permanent solution done the right way. Through networking, he already knew Adam and trusted him to evaluate the home. After completing a comprehensive inspection, Adam determined the home needed 2 SmartJack XLs along with a supplemental beam to properly stabilize the floors above.
Gustavo and his crew completed the installation with care and professionalism, leaving the home stabilized and cleaned up thoroughly afterward - as seen in the after photo.
A homeowner in Brunswick, MD was dealing with a failing and crumbling stacked stone foundation wall. They didn't think there was anything that could be done to repair it until they called Fortress Foundation Solutions.
Skylar, one of our System Designers, visited the home to assess the foundation and educate the homeowner on the EverBrace® solution. EverBrace is a steel foundation repair system that is installed in front of the existing wall to permanently stabilize and reinforce it.
For stacked stone foundations, EverBrace is often the most effective long-term solution, providing homeowners with lasting structural support and peace of mind.
In Spotsylvania, Virginia, Mr. Avery called Fortress after noticing sagging floors, gaps, and soft spots above his basement. Mr. Avery had seen our advertisements and knew we were the right company to call.
As shown in the before photo, his home was being supported by wooden columns. Unfortunately, the weight-bearing capacity of wood is not nearly as strong or reliable as the weight-bearing capacity of our SmartJack XL system - which is what you see installed in the after photo.
Proper support. Built to last.
This customer noticed significant settling of their bay window on the front of their home. After calling Fortress Foundation Solutions, setting an appointment, and receiving an inspection and recommendation from one of our system designers, they chose to accept our proposal to fix their settlement issues for good! We turned to our Helical Pier system to stabilize and restore the position of their foundation! Helical piers are a great option for stabilizing foundations or other masonry elements and we're so glad that we were able to utilize them for these clients!
